Types of egyptian visas for indian passports
When visiting Egypt, travelers need a visa to enter the country. Egypt visa types are 3 for Indian passport holders:
1- Business Visa:
Anyone visiting Egypt for business purposes must apply for this Egypt visa. The applicant must provide the requested documents to the consulate/embassy in person and before travel. This type of visa is either a single entry or a double entry. It is also valid for 3 months or 6 months, depending on your request.
2- Tourist Visa:
This type of Egypt visa is useful to anyone visiting the country for leisure and sightseeing purposes. While a tourist visa is valid for 90 days, one’s trip cannot extend beyond 30 days. This Egypt visa application process does not involve going for a personal interview. The interview is needed if the traveler has no travel history, or the immigration office insists on an interview.
3- Transit visa:
A Transit visa is granted to travelers who are traveling to a third country and having a transit in Egypt for less than 24 hours.
What are the Documents required for indian passport holders?
The list of documents needed depends on which visa you need from Egypt visa types. Yet, some standard documents one requires are
1- The visa application form,
2- A passport with 6 months validity and 2 blank pages for the visa stamps,
3- Recent photographs as per specifications,
4- Confirmed flight and accommodation bookings,
5- Travel itinerary and photocopies of the first and last page of the passport,
6– A valid cover letter/request letter to the consulate.
7– Previous 6 months bank statement details with a minimum balance of Rs. 50,000. The bank must also attest the bank statements.
8– A cover letter from the company that the applicant will be representing during the business trip. Besides an invitation letter from the partners in Egypt, that must be sent directly to the consulate.
What is the Application process?
Egypt does not outsource its visa processes to private agencies. Indian passport holders’ applications must be submitted in person to the Consulate General of Egypt in Mumbai or the Embassy of Egypt in Delhi. It depends on which state he/she resides.
If the applicant cannot submit the documents in person, an agent or relative with an authorization/delegation letter can proceed on his/her behalf.
The processing time for any of the 3 Egypt visa types takes from 3 to 6 working days.
Egypt work visa for Indian
Indians relocating to Egypt for work purposes must have an employment contract. Besides experience letter legalized from the two countries to apply for a work permit in Egypt.
Upon submitting these documents to the Ministry of Manpower Egypt, the Indian expat waits for his first security clearance to enter Egypt.
Once this clearance is issued, the Indian expat can enter Egypt and we continue the work permit in Egypt while he is inside the country.
Proof of negative HIV, payment of the governmental work permit fees to the Ministry of Manpower Egypt, and the technical documents prepared by his employer in Egypt are to be presented to the Ministry of Manpower Egypt to receive your Work permit in Egypt.
Upon receiving the work permit inside Egypt his visa must be transferred into a work visa. It is done through the immigration department in Egypt. This process to be arranged through your employer in Egypt. This process to be accompanied by an agent with all the supporting technical documents provided by the employer.
After your biometric fingerprint is done and your visa application is submitted, you must remain inside Egypt until your second security clearance is issued and your visa application is approved. Subsequently, you will receive your residency card, and your working in Egypt visa shall be valid for up to 1 year and to be renewed.
Indian passport holder residing in Egypt for purposes of work, higher education, or on a short-term visit must register their entry after every international flight at the immigration department. They are also requested to register themselves with the Embassy of India, Cairo, Egypt.
