Lifting many RESTRICTIONS
Egypt began lifting many of the restrictions put in place to curb the spread of The Novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19. One of the restriction lifted was the reopening of the Egyptian Immigration Office. This allowed expats to start and resume their work in Arab Republic of Egypt while coexisting with the Covid-19 Pandemic situation.
Egypt will reopen its immigration office
Expats willing to work in Egypt should obtain work permit and work visa.
Foreign Employees interested in getting employed in Egypt must obtain work permits and follow the regulations issued by the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration. The work permit is valid for up to one year and can then be renewed.
To apply for a work permit, you require:
- A valid Passport.
- A legalized experience letter more than three years.
Hotels were already functioning for domestic travelers at 50 per cent capacity from June the first.
The Egyptian authorities have announced that It will permit international flights to and from Egyptian airports starting 1 July, 2020
Selected Destinations are not opened
On 1 July too, Egypt opened selected destinations to international air traffic. Foreign tourists are allowed to visit three coastal governorates – South Sinai, the Red Sea and Marsa Matrouh. Arrivals have been exempted from visa fees until the end of October in an attempt to boost the ailing tourism sector.
Obtaining Work Permit and Work Visa in Egypt through The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is being regulated by measures and procedures made by the Egyptian government and authorities.
On the 6th of August, 2020, Prime Minister announced that anyone should be arriving to the Egyptian lands shall have a (PCR) negative proof for the Novel Coronavirus. So any ex-pat shall be arriving in the Arab Republic to obtain a work permit and work visa, he/ she shall have this proof
One year, is the validity duration for Work and Residence Permits but the approval is gives in two six-month increments; this work permit could be renewed for a duration to be up to three cumulative years (also in six-month increments).The process of obtaining a work permit is the same for any foreign national working in Egypt. An application must be filed.
When it comes Family members of the expats. The spouse of the foreign employee who holds a valid work permit receives a residence permit with a duration equal to that of the work permit holder. And the working spouse of an expatriate does not automatically receive the same type of work permit or visa as the expatriate.
